About the Course :

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been delegated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is an exam to determine the applicability of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian educational institutions.
The UGC-NET is scheduled to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from 2018 onwards.

The candidates passing only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who pass for the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are further governed by the rules and regulations of the  Universities/Colleges/State Governments where the candidates seek to take up the profession, as the case may be for recruitment of Assistant Professor.

UGC-NET is scheduled twice every year (June & December). To facilitate the UGC-NET examination cycle, the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC is scheduling the UGC NET June 2023 in 83 subjects, at selected cities across India.
