What are the Key Considerations while selecting the best country for MBBS for Indian students?

Finalising a Medical college for studying MBBS abroad  may be a pretty tricky affair, however we will try to simplify the process for you considering all the factors that must be considered while determining the destination for studying MBBS in a foreign country. It may also be understood that there is no best country to study MBBS for Indian students. A country you may consider best may not be good enough for other students, each student or parents may have unique set of requirements based on quality of education, the expenses involved, medium of instruction, political and civil situation of the country etc. Though it is perfectly correct to consider all these factors while finalising the college, there are some factors that must never be ignored while determining the best college for doing MBBS for Indian students, these are:

  1. Pl ensure that the chosen destination country for studying medicine is peaceful with no threat of civil disorder. Students who had choses Ukraine in previous years had to undergo immense trauma due to the ongoing invasion of Russia in Ukraine. Many students had to take transfers in other peaceful countries imposing increased financial burden on the parents. This situation can be best avoided if thorough due diligence is carried out and the past history of conflicts or political turmoil is studied.
  2. The college must fulfill all the guidelines of erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI) and newly formed National Medical Commission (NMC). This is the most important factor that must be carefully evaluated and checked, students and parents must understand that any or all  deviation(s) from NMC guidelines will render the MBBS degree invalid in India. It is best recommended for students and parents to do this evaluation themselves or please select a professional consultant, who can do this evaluation for you. We at Admission and Certification provide this exhaustive consultancy to the aspiring students.
  3. National Medical Commission has mandated all the Indian and Foreign medical graduates to pass the National Exit Test (NeXT)  Step 1 to obtain practicing license from 2023 onwards. Students must select the  Foreign Medical College which provides coaching for the preparation for the NeXT exam right from the first year of the MBBS program. Absence of this important facility in any foreign medical college will render the students ill-prepared for the NeXT exam subsequently disqualifying them from practicing in India.
  4.  Though NMC has mandated that the medium of English language be followed in the approved foreign medical colleges however due to non-conformity of English in routine in some countries leads to many students struggling to understand their teachers, certain countries claim to be the cheapest country to study MBBS for Indian students but lack this important factor renders the decision of selection of such countries absolutely futile.
  5.  Please  visit the website of the selected foreign college to see if there are some Indian faculty who are part of their team, Indian students shall always feel comfortable to communicate and understand Indian faculty members as compared to foreign faculty, making them feel at home at the time of need.
  6.  The hostel and food offered in these foreign medical colleges must match the taste and liking of the Indian students, at the end of the grueling  day students must feel at home, most of these foreign medical colleges highlight the menu that they offer to the Indian students in their brochure or website.
