Employee State Insurance Corporation, a statutory government body established by an Act of Parliament, ESI Act 1948 [34 of 1948], subsumed in Social Security Code 2020, under the direct administrative control of Ministry of Labour Education Institutions in the country at large.

About the reserved MBBS seats in ESIC Medical colleges/ Govt Medical Colleges

There is an approved policy and procedure for getting admission to under graduate (MBBS/BDS) courses in Employee State Insurance Corporation Medical Education Institutions, provides seats quota only for the wards of insured persons (IPs) after merging of the All India Quota and state Government Quota’.

‘Ward of Insured Persons’ under Employee State Insurance Scheme who meet the laid down eligibility conditions
and have applied and appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2023] can apply for admission to UG course (MBBS Colleges and some Government Medical Colleges for the seats allocated for the wards of the insured persons (IPs)’ for academic session 2023 basis policy and procedure approved by the Government of India / ESI Corporation.

What is the mechanism to fill the seats of the MBBS/BDS in Govt Colleges for the wards of the insured person of Employee State Insurance Corporation?

All the available seats reserved for the wards of Employee State Insurance Corporation Insured persons will be pooled in All India Basis and then allotted to the wards of the Insured Persons (IPs). The guiding principle for filling up the seats will be as under:

All the reservations basis SC/ST/EWS/OBC/PH etc will be followed for the allotment of seats.
Candidates seeking admission under the quota for Insured Person (IPs) must qualify the following conditions

a) All the minimum qualifying conditions of NTA/NEET/DCI/NMC must be fulfilled.

b) Applicant must have valid ward of Insured Person (IP) certificate issued by Employee State Insurance Corporation.

c) Candidates will be allotted seats based on merit cum preference of institution.

How to apply for ward of Insured Person (IP) of Employee State Insurance Corporation?

Candidates are advised to log in to ESIC Website and then click on the link where certificate to obtain ward of Insured Person is mentioned.
OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number of the insured person.
After completion of successful log-in, applicants are required to complete the form.
Candidate must upload all the required documents in the online application as under:
a. Recent Passport size photograph of the Ward of IP (candidate) {5 to 50KB}
b. Recent Passport size photograph of IP (Insured Person) {5 to 50KB}
c. Scanned Birth Certificate /Matriculation Certificate for proof of Date of Birth {10 to
200KB}
d. Admit card of NEET (UG)-2023 {10 to 200KB}
e. Affidavit by female candidate as per Annexure-4 {10 to 200KB}
f. Affidavit by IP (In case of female candidate) as per Annexure–5 {10 to
200KB}
g. A system generated ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ will be available to download
after approval of Competent Authority.
